I too have seldom heard of these bearings failing. I would think removing the FW and reinstalling the wheel to inspect the adjustment of the hub may be a good idea. if your unfamiliar with bicycle maintenance I suggest finding a competent and qualified mechanic. these Mavic hubs need special tools to remove and install the bearings.

these may help but again you need special tools for this job.
