I think Yahoo got a bad reputation. a few years ago, when it was discovered that you could pay for your position in their listings, the more you paid, the higher your listing in the rankings. I don't know if it was actually true or not, but by the time they could recover from this a lot of people had moved to Google. Google has it's own problems however, if I do a search to buy something, even if I pick Canadian sites only, I seem to get US only listings at the top.
