the Fuji is a decent bike for the money but i would get something other than a newiest. Look at the Roubaix. not the Roubaix ACR just the plain Roubaix maybe the 3.0. Performance has the prety cheap but id say a LBS should be able to get him a pretty good deal as well. I got a Roubaix ACR later last year and have been really happy with it for the money. The ACR has a more aggressive geometry that the regular Roubaix so id say your dad would rather go that route. its similar to the newiest just nicer. although for his needs the Newiest might not be a bad way to go.
