When was the last time you ripped a brake line (mech or hydro)? Both lines?
In the world of possibilities and probabilities this is very, very unlikely. What is likely is needing good brakes if you go down any "downhill". I went from mechanical BB7 to Formula Bianco and will never go back to the mechs. My hydros have been fantastic both from a setup, use and maintenance point of view.
