I located this tidbit information on the www.campyonly.com site posted on Dec 15 2006. The person posting this said that the seven speed came out in 1984 and a compact 7 speed freewheel came out in 1986. If this information is wrong it can easily be disproved by looking up these facts on a Campagnolo site somewhere.
