I've reread my original post to find the part where i said retaliation against bicyclist was justified. i couldn't find it. Reading comprehension counts! Retaliation is never justified, just understandable. It's guilt by association.
Let's turn this around. Cyclists are pretty regularly put up with idiots in cars yelling at them, throwing things at them, passing close by them, running them off the road, and evening running over them. So next time a cyclist passes a little too closely and scratches your car, realize there is a reason.
It's all a matter of perspective.
Unfortunately, in turning it around, it's the cyclist who lose. As a cyclist I'm tired of paying a price for those who don't get it. But mostly, I'm pissed off because what i saw with this incident was both needless and reckless.
Since the scratch on my car seems to be no big deal to to you, if you want to send me a check to cover the damage, I'll take it. Money's money, it's all good.
