OK, Rudi, put me down for February. 100.13 miles today.

The huge storm created a unique condition here: 30's-40's yesterday, 50's at wakeup, up to near 70 by 3 pm, then the drop-off to 20's-30's tomorrow. The storm didn't bring much rain, but 30mph winds with gusts to 50, all from the SW.

I started work, waiting on word about getting the day off, due to a late request. By 9:40 I had the rest of the day off.
So, I grabbed the '88 Ironman Carbon off the rack, 105psi in the tires, added a cage to have 2, filled up 2 water bottles and stuffed 4 Nature's Own bars in my jersey.

10:50 am-Out the door.

25 miles in, ate 1 bar and drank 1/2 a bottle, while underway. Just didn't want to break stride, cadence, etc.

12:50 pm-40.01 miles. 1st break, nice first leg, averaging dead-on 20mph. Took about a 20-minute break.
Loosened my shoes (feet always swell a bit), got the helmet off, sat at a picnic table.
I'd say the wind was an advantage on that portion.
Ate 2 more bars and drank the rest of bottle 1.

2:10 pm-60 miles. Into the wind, not so fast. Kept telling myself to relax, watch the hawks, pedal, but don't push.
Took about a 15-minute break, drank 1/2 of bottle 2, ate the fourth bar.

3:50 pm-80 miles. Home, but glad to have 80 out of the way. Had to pay the cell bill on line, take care of a couple of things, answer a couple of calls. Put on a dry jersey liner, ate a fifth bar, drank the rest of the 2nd water bottle. Told my wife I'd be doing the last 20, and "it may be late."

4:30 pm-left out the door for the last 20. Winds picking up, temps dropping, probably should have worn an extra layer.

5:00 pm-90 miles. The winds helped, and some downhills helped.

5:42 pm-100 miles. Slowed a bit as I had to run through a couple of subdivisions en route to get to 100.

Total time, start to finish: 6:52. Total time on the road, probably about 5:47 to 5:52, my Cateye is very basic.
Total nourishment: 5 Nature's own bars, 2 bottles of water. I think next time I'll eat a little more.

The bike was flawless. My legs are a bit shaky, and the helmet hair is obvious, but I'll manage to get out, get some gas and a beer.
