silvercreek, I hope the cleanliness of that bike doesn't indicate that you barely ride it. How far have you taken it?

If you can't do a century, do 50 miles. Or 30. Or whatever you like! Merry Christmas.

Great photos all around gentlemen.

Rudi, two questions: when you start so early, do you take coffee with you on your bars? Also do you/have you mounted a camera on your bars and ever run video?

Count me in for 2012, if you're going to keep doing this.

I've got this thing for cleaning and polishing. I may not get to ride the Paramount because of health issues. It's only been around the block so far. It's in need of a tune-up.

Great post! I really enjoyed your pics, and it's nice to see someone local.

BTW, those high voltage power lines veering off to the left were the location of the climatic scene of the movie "Se7en", with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Yikes!
Oh man, I don't think I've ever fully made the connection! When I first watched it, I thought, "Hmm. That looks like it could be near here", but I didn't think of that place. That is both cool and quite creepy.

Was this taken at the 'airplane hanger' church on Highline Rd?

Yard art - AV style. Everyone here is an aviation buff, it seems.
I love that yard. Every time I drive by it, it makes me smile.

That picture was taken out in front of the onion packing/distribution plant along side the Willow Springs/Tehachapi Rd, about 5 miles (?) up the road from the intersection at Rosamond Rd. I'm not familiar with the airplane hanger church on Highline?

BTW, I'v started creating 200km routes as RUSA Permanents here in the AV. I am also coordinating a 200k Brevet here on April 14th. rat fink, if you are local maybe you should think about joining in? Here's a link to my Permanent route:
"Antelope Valley Movie Land" You can follow the link to a link with my RideWithGPS route.

More to come very soon!

Jim

We did 71 miles yesterday, and did the last thirty in a snow storm.

This will be a great riding year.

We have a great group of guys assembled and can't wait for the gravel season.

It's good to have a goal or two, and our group goal includes lots of fun and adventure on gravel roads in the Midwest.

Big mileage totals will be the norm for us this year.

We'll be doing the Almonzo and any other distance event that will take us.

Cool! You should post it in this year's thread!

I got together with six other forum members and rode yesterday... about 25 miles, I think. It was [bleep]ing cold.

Ah, the presence of greenery threw me off, but I know that location well. Highline Rd. is the first major road that you come to upon entering Tehachapi via Willow Springs Rd. I live a few miles down, just off of that road on the South side, in the hills.

I love your movie sites tour ride idea. I've seen a few of them by car, but it would be even more rewarding to see them all by bike. That really gets my inner history buff going! I will mark my calendar. I will contact you for more information via the link on RUSA. Thanks for the invite!
