Just saw this new bike up on BikesDirect. It's nothing special, but its way cheap, cromo and a good beater bike i guess.

No fender mounts, which limits its usability as a beater bike.

Comes with REAR break...wtf, weird.

For those that care I guess.
I see this is a common issue; and I can see why
it is strange CPCS rules

A TRACK BIKE - does not need brakes; but a Track Bike must have sew-ups to be classed as such; thus most track bikes require a brake under CPSC rules

BUT NOW CPCS says all bikes with only one brake must have a REAR BRAKE; if you have a front you must have a rear

So if you want to have low price with just one brake under current CPSC rules it needs to be the rear
Moto Messenger and Windsor Clockwork are basicly the same bike with two bikes [thus legal]
Hour & Track which only have one - get rear [thus legal]

confusing enough? As you can guess, we in the industry do not control the CPCS; just live by the rules
