I had a brand new CS 26" X 1.9" slick explode on me after the first ride. I put about 12 miles on it, pulled into the garage, and after about 20 minutes of the bike sitting quietly she went POW! Post mortem inspection showed that the bead parted company with the sidewall. Strange failure, it souldn't have been road damage as the rupture was inside the rim, and anyhow it was 12 very easy miles along a new-ish cycle path i.e. no debris, broken glass etc. and the tyre was just under its max PSI as per the sidewall.

The exchange tyre from the LBS is till going strong, showing little sign of wear after about 300 miles
