February century is complete. I didnt think it was even going to happen, but then yesterday morning I bagged work and met up with rhm in New Jersey at about 6:30am. We proceeded to ride the relative flatness of NJ for 75 miles. We stopped for breakfast, a flat tire, and a few small rest stops but that was basically it. They were calling for temps near 70 but in fact it was overcast and maybe 50's for most of the ride. The good weather started to happen roughly when we were finishing up out ride at 2pm.
I needed to get home to my wife and kids , as much as I wanted to just finish out the century, but my odometer stopped about a half mile short of 75.
Soo, later in the evening after dinner I jumped on my Lotus with it's lights and hit the trail near my house. I did a chunk of my commute and turned around at the 12 mile mark. I got home and did a few laps around the block because I was still short a mile for some reason.
So it was a little disjointed, but I rode 100 miles yesterday, though with a 3 or 4 hour break in between rides. I'll take it.
I'll get around to posting some of my pics later this weekend when my camera surfaces. Maybe Rudi will post a few of his own if he wants..
Today I feel good, just tired. I had not gotten much sleep the night before, and last night my daughter decided to wake up every two hours to that didnt help things either.
My legs feel fine, though I definitely do feel like I did some riding. Overall I feel 100% better than I did after January's century though. That surprised me since I hadnt been on the bike except for a really short ride since then!
Thanks again to Rudi for the great ride, and for letting me borrow your pedal taps!
We'll be riding together again at some point I'm sure.
For anyone who cares, Rudi was on his Fathergil (sp) and I was on my 80's Bianchi w/ 10 sp campy.
