If he's credentialed, he won't have a problem with access to the route. There are several media vehicles (car and moto) in the caravan.
It's NOT a chore until you've done three or four of them. The week goes by so fast, your head spins. Then you're left with a Tour hangover for a few weeks.

Thanks - yeah, I haven't shot a pro bike race before but I kind of know what I'm in for. Shoot an 8 hour wedding sometime.
I'm completely exhausted afterwards. I'm sure this will be even more hectic. my friend is shooting for some of the teams, so we might be getting on team buses and what not, so I might have a chance to chat with some really cool people. Hope the other dude flakes...
