I tried some in my Velocity rims, and my bike had a flat tire by the end of the day, just hanging up. My thoroughly-kneejerk reaction was OK, those are coming back out.

If you want something lightweight that stays put, you could also consider Stan's Yellow Tape. I use two wraps on the road bike, considering the extra tire pressure involved, and I believe that's what NoTubes is using in their road wheelsets too. Two wraps will be around 10-12 grams per wheelset.
