Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

thats a good point actually. if i had rims with internal nipples i would use velo plugs instead of the Rox ultralight tape (even though i would gain a couple grams by doing so )

never had one fall out. they have always fit really tight which can make them a pain to put in.

Bikes: Caad 9.5, Madone 6 series, Speed Concept 7 series.

Is the velox rim tape 15 grams per wheel or for both (30 total)??
The Veloplugs will weigh 8 grams for both wheels. (46 plugs)

At 15grms per both, i'm willing to forgo the plugs. On the other hand, if it's 30grms total, then I rather save 22grams

Red + Reynolds rims = perfect fit. There's no way they'd ever fall out. Either way I threw 2 extra in my seatbag just incase.

Seems silly to drop money on fancy rims and give up an easy extra 20-40g savings on the outer edge of the wheels, assuming you can find a veloplug that fits properly. Plus the rimtape that comes with reynolds weighed ~60g, so I was gonna have to buy something else anyway.

Bikes: many

Red= tight fit for kinlin rims, hard to install but very secure.
I am done with velox, was using sram rim strips before veloplugs but I have never had a single issue with veloplugs.
Also great on low spoke count wheels.

I've had great results with mine, a couple thousand miles with no flats. Saved about 40 grams off of the standard Easton tape

I use the yellow ones and the fit is quite tight. I don't see them falling out anytime soon
