Wow, that's nice. I like the color.

Good call on the IGH - I'm sold they are the way to go in anything other than desert-type climates (I still choose to use IGH in my quasi-desert climate).

FWIW - I am a huge fan of the J-tek bar end shifter. It is extremely well made and a pleasure to operate (I've never used another shifter with such a satisfying feel). http://jtekengineering.com/jtek_bar-end_shifter.htm The pics make it look cheesier than it is. The whole thing is milled/CNC'd. Very solid.
The downside is that it does not have a built-in cable adjuster, but on that bike it would be easy enough to use the downtube braze-ons with a conventional threaded barrel adjuster.
Finally, you should be able to route the cable through the rear derailleur cable stop - much cleaner than the zip tie.
