One of the great things about commuting by bike is that it forces you to exercise.

Lots of people know they should exercise, and many of them do it, but most who try to exercise because they know they should, at some point stop doing it. If you commute by bike, you keep at it, at least I have.

I wonder what the drop out rate is for those who commute by bike as compared to the usual manner in which people get their exercise. Seems to me, lots of people start to go to gyms, but few keep it up. I have no idea how many people start to run and then drop that. Maybe my 26 years of commuting is unusual, I don't know.
