I rode a lot in the 80 but didn't have time for it by the 90's. I was blessed with crappy ankles so running has never been something I got into.
Stress filled job, smoking and Heredity all working against me 7 years ago at age 37 I survived "the widow maker".
I don't like paying for Gym's and then having to make time for them. I seem to have a full day from the time I get up till the time I go to bed and just didn't see me being able to dedicate time to "GO to the gym".
Little over 3 years ago I came to terms with a lot of anxiety over my heart issues and dug out my old Peugeot and started to ride again. I had taken a job 4 miles from my house where I was not tied to a desk and move around a lot moving equipment up to 70lb and it greatly improved my health. I decided commuting would be the best way to get the cardio exercise I still needed. Been loving it ever since and try to get a 20-40 mile ride in on the weekends.
So yes riding is the major part of my "exercise"
Now the pisser is my Job moved......CLOSER! I lost half my ride and in fact the part that had bike lanes that I liked the best. LOL
Soon to have a nice MUP in the area and I will start picking up an extra few miles on the way home and probably In as the MUP will run very close to my house to make up for the loss in commute once it gets completed.
