Thanks - this is perfect! So, if I read this correctly a serial number of "S 49965" indicates a 1931 vintage. I wonder what the remaining digits signify. Some manufacturers have a variety of indicators, including location of build, month, model, even paint codes I guess.

I presumed the saddle would be a Dunlop, but it is leather, and it has no name plate or other identifier on it anywhere I've been able to locate so far. Leads me to wonder if it is original now.
