no running allowed..... doctor's orders...... bad knees...... i've already had one surgically rebuilt..... looking at potential knee replacement down the road..... ugh.
cycling is my main exercise (30 miles/day commuting + whatever for fun on weekends), though for 7-8 months of the year i also supplement it with a ton of kayaking. i try to get out on the water with every free moment i have (when i'm not on the bike) when the weather allows. i also go through starts and stops with fitness programs/weight training. i start it up, get kinda fit, then get bored after 3 months, give it up, let myself go, then realize a year later how soft i am, recommit myself, stick with the weight training for another 3 months, then get bored again and so on. the main problem i have is that i can't exercise indoors. it just feels wrong and i get so freaking bored being inside after awhile.
oh well, cycling and kayaking will always be my true passions. if i had easy, cheap access to a pool, i could see myself sticking with swimming as well because i love the water and swimming is such a great whole body workout.
