I want to replace the fork on my girlfriend's 47cm 2011 Dawes MTA. What do I have to look for when shopping for a fork (length, fork style, steerer tube length?)?
- Steer tube diameter (match your headset, usually 1 1/8)
- Steer tube length (usually not an issue unless used fork with cut tube)
- Fork length (match existing fork)
- Fork rake angle (match existing fork)
- drilled or not drilled for brake

Example:
1 1/8" threadless fork. 700cc
Steerer Tube: 300mm Uncut
Axle to Crown Length: 375
Rake: 43 Degrees
