Best Budget Bottom Bracket?

I'm ordered an Eighth Inch Crankset for my SST AL. The crankset calls for a JIS Square Taper.

Any recommendations for a bottom bracket under $20-30? What's the difference between a budget BB and a more expensive one?

Also, any recommendation for BB length for the crankset?

Shimano bottom bracket. Cheap, reliable and serviceable.

Eighth Inch calls for a 107mm JIS spindle.

Un-54

The filter keeps pwning this. Srsly, we can't post to capital letters next to each other even when it is the proper name of an item?

Must be your spell check. I typed "JIS" without issue.

But you'll have a straighter chainline if you use a 103.

Only when it's the first word of your post (for whatever reason).

Thanks for the replies.

I want to replace the fork on my girlfriend's 47cm 2011 Dawes MTA. What do I have to look for when shopping for a fork (length, fork style, steerer tube length?)?

if you want to go one step fancier then an un-54, you can get tange/IRD QB-75. Ships with two alloy cups instead of one plastic like the UN does.

Prod info:
* QB-75 has alloy cups and body with a plated hollow CrMo spindle
* Sealed cartridge bearings
* Made in Japan by Tange Seki
* Only 240 grams

- Steer tube diameter (match your headset, usually 1 1/8)
- Steer tube length (usually not an issue unless used fork with cut tube)
- Fork length (match existing fork)
- Fork rake angle (match existing fork)
- drilled or not drilled for brake

Example:
1 1/8" threadless fork. 700cc
Steerer Tube: 300mm Uncut
Axle to Crown Length: 375
Rake: 43 Degrees
