Bikes: See my sig...

Spent the day at the co-op and helped one of our volunteers with his own catch of the day... someone donated a nearly mint 1985 Apollo Club Tourist in in that wonderful green and silver I am so very fond of.

Was fitted with a Shimano 600 drivetrain with the long cage rear d, 600 pedals, drilled 600 levers with nice hoods, AT50 cantis, and the wheels were Sansin laced 40 / 38 to Araya rims which I hand tuned for him.

The frame was of course lugged and built on Ishiwata quad butted tubes which is good cause the kid is six foot 2 and probably curbs out at a good 250 pounds and needs a stiff and strong frame under him and after a test ride he said those brakes (fitted with Kool Stops) stopped him better than many disc brakes he has used.

Of course... nothing is free but we gave him the student / volunteer / welcome to C&V bicycles discount (the price will make you cry) and figure he should be enjoying this bike for years and years to come.

He really wants to tour and the bike also came with a Jim Blackburn rear touring rack so he is pretty much set up.
