I think only if you're trying to flip stuff to people on the forum or something. But that would be kinda lousy anyway if you're trying to sell it for more than it's worth on the forum. If you're selling at a fair price, no harm regardless of what deal you may have gotten on it. If you're not selling it on the forum, which I think is generally a better bet anyway, then it doesn't really matter. And you're helping the members of the forum evaluate their own bikes/what they should look to pay for a similar bike. I think it's a good thing to share.
YOU may have that logic, but I am certain there are many others who do not.
