I had a bad groaning noise the other day, always when pedaling hard, always on the downstroke on the left side. Uh oh, I'm thinking, a crank/BB problem.

Nope, the saddle clamp wasn't tight enough and it was just the way my butt pushed the saddle when pedaling like that.
