I can even understand being a pro you ride more and more likely to crash more often and get road rash. But 99.9% of the people posting on these forums aren't pros and just do it because they see the pros do it. The comments about getting bugs out of your hair is a new one. Where are these people riding that there are so many bugs they have to shave? I don't remeber ever having bugs stuck to the hair on my legs. At the end of the day they are your legs and your decision. There are no good reasons above to shave your legs. You hit the only reason people do it in your opening post. You want to fit in.
