But 99.9% of the people posting on these forums aren't pros and just do it because they see the pros do it. The comments about getting bugs out of your hair is a new one. Where are these people riding that there are so many bugs they have to shave? I don't remeber ever having bugs stuck to the hair on my legs. At the end of the day they are your legs and your decision. There are no good reasons above to shave your legs. You hit the only reason people do it in your opening post. You want to fit in.
Shaving your legs has nothing to do with sexuality, ignorance is something best kept to yourself. The value of shaving or not shaving is up to each person, but there are benefits to doing it whether you race or not. Being a pro or not has nothing to do with anything, it takes more than shaving your legs to "look pro" and if you're not a pro then you won't look the part. Thanks for this nugget of dopiness though, it was worth the chuckle.
