Well, no. I don't think you have this straight. Perhaps you need to read more carefully
Sigma says, on their site, that it is capable of 12 or 24 hour time, however, their manual (both included and online) shows no way of making such change.
No worries though, for the price. I simply prefer 24 hour time, but I am fully capable of figuring out the other
