How to change Sigma BC1009 time format

I tried this in the electronics forum and got nothing. Maybe some of you have a similar computer.

I have a Sigma BC1009, and the description on the Sigma site says it can be set for 12 or 24 hour time. I don't see anything in the instructions on how to do this, and I can't seem to find the setting. Anyone?

I'd go to the "clock" mode, where the time is displayed and start pushing buttons, holding them down for a 3-5 thousand count, and see if that changes anything.

Otherwise, get used to military/metric time...

The manual can be found here:
https://www.sigmasport.de/en/produkte...c1009/?flash=1

I have an older Sigma. The setup mode requires taking the battery out and putting back in.

Did either of you actually check the manual against what the OP posted...?

No, I didn't think so.

I have a BC906 and it displays 24 hour time if kmph is used, or 12 hour time if mph is used. There's no way to have 12 hour time with kmph or vise-versa.

I fear that this is my answer. I want MPH and military time, but it doesn't look like I can do that.

And yes, mconlonx is correct. I checked my manual and the online manual from their site already. Hence the need for this post

Not to quibble, but how did I not post what exactly I wanted? Is there some way I could have been more specific with my original post?

There was nothing wrong with your question. The pissing parade generates from our apparent lack of research into your problem. In the future, I'll defer all Sigma comp questions to those immanently more qualified.

So let me get this straight, you checked the Sigma site and there were no instructions on something the manufacturer (Sigma) deemed the computer unable to accomplish so you asked a bunch of smarta** folks (I'll include myself) to see if we had the impossible answer and expect to get intelligent responses? No way. Are you in the military now or were you ever? If so thanks for your service,

Well, no. I don't think you have this straight. Perhaps you need to read more carefully

Sigma says, on their site, that it is capable of 12 or 24 hour time, however, their manual (both included and online) shows no way of making such change.

No worries though, for the price. I simply prefer 24 hour time, but I am fully capable of figuring out the other

Man I see you are a fellow Buckeye. I'm a transplant to the Puget Sound area but I'll always be a Buckeye.

I really would like to move somewhere. A friend moved to Portland a couple years ago. He just messaged me on facebook about an hour ago telling me to come visit. I fear I would never leave.

I honestly think this state is going to hell in a handbasket. How do you like it there?

Oh, and thanks for attempting to help anyway. I just emailed Sigma to ask, but I fear jeffpoulin has given me the answer already.

Ok first things first. Open your settings on the sigma and get to the clock settings click set with the lower left and the hours should blink. The upper left buttons will change the hour setting from one to 24 then set ok and the minutes should blink then set them and press set ok I think that might work. There is a demo on the Sigma website which I'm sure you saw but I been messing around with that thing for a few minutes. Try it and see if it works. I've been here since 1978 and I like it a lot but if you can't handle 9 months of grey skies and rain the its not for you. Its beautiful when its sunny and the mountains are out but boy by now since we have had an extremely crummy spring I'm about to go nuts. Portland is generally warmer the sunnier than the Seattle area but it can be gloomy there to. Portland is a lot more bike friendly than Seattle or Tacoma also

Thanks. I can try the settings again, but I did that. Twice, to be sure. It went through the hours and minutes, but I saw no way to change to 24 hour time.

BTW, this has been the crappiest spring I remember in a while here too. Hardly any chance to ride in decent weather. I really don't mind rain so much, it's just another excuse I need to overcome.

*&^%$ I couldn't get it to change either after I entered MPH instead of KPH. My bad I got a red face and am sitting here eating a big fat crow with some humble pie. Anyway you really should come out to visit your friend you might like it. Be forewarned even with a bad housing market homes a a good bit higher than they are in Ohio

I hope pay is better too, but who knows. I'm just tired of simply existing here. The guy in Portland wishes he and his wife had moved long ago. Same way I feel about having LASIK surgery last year.

But yes, that is what I found also. I hope Sigma tells me differently, but I doubt it. Maybe I'll switch over to the metric system, for the mental stimulation, and the eurotrash girls.

+1 on the eurotrash girls but don't tell my wife.
