Any chance you could borrow and try a couple of different bikes from your friend? A couple of short tours will tell you more than this forum as far as what works for you. People have and do tours on just about any bike, fitness allowing. Start slow, experiment, and see what floats your boat.
Yeah, he's let me taken out whatever I wanted to ride. I like the Revel the best. It's light and sturdy. I can't wait to put some slicks on it. All though the Kenda Small Blocks roll pretty good. It will definitely be easy does it. I just can't wait to roll over those road imperfections like they aren't even there. Riding skinny 700 sure steals my energy when I hit those bumps and cracks in the road. Everything is a give and take. Speed or comfort. The revel does have a good granny gear for those hills. Looking forward to getting started!
