Very true. I went through several different style of stands, three to be exact. Biggest issue I had was trying to keep stability when my bike is loaded down. At two of my LBS, they only use the Feedback type of stand whenever they are displaying a single bike by itself away from the other cluster of bike. The manager told me that stand are pretty stable when customer bumps into the bikes when browsing.

I have my MTB with two loaded grocery pannier and it held it up just fine.
