Widgets to stand up bike without a wall (or kickstand)?

Office conditions are changing for the worse for me. For four and a half years I've been able to lay my bike against the wall next to my desk. For no good reason that will no longer be possible (happening during bike month, no less). It's unclear where my bike will go at all but it'd be nice to know what sorts of little widgets are out there that could be used to store the bike upright without a wall if necessary. Thanks in advance.

At worst there's a parking lot two blocks away that takes bikes for a dollar a day. No way I park one of my bikes on the street.

There's this: https://www.amazon.com/Avenir-75-27-3.../dp/B001V5ZQ9I. I have a similar one, but I can't rememvber the name right now. I got mine from the LBS for around $25.

The simplest device I've used is one with a base plate or legs that provide a stable base, and a simple, vertical arm with coated hooks that hold the chainstay and seatstay.

Sounds like you want a display stand.

I have one of these and use it for making drivetrain adjustments. It fits most of my bikes and works well. However it doesn't fit frames with oversized downtubes.

yea, bring a display stand to work and leave it there.

There are some that you slip your left crank arm into,
those would fit most any bike.

Why not a kickstand with two legs? That kind makes the bike just stand upright with no leaning.

I have a plastic wheel stand like the ones in the Amazon links above. I've used it in my garage for years. Nothing fancy, but does the job. Got mine at a bike shop.

Thanks for the replies so far! A kickstand is not an option because for one, I need to use this for 2-3 (currently 2) different bikes and one of them has a carbon frame. The latter bit (carbon) makes me lean toward the solutions that touch only the wheel/tire. Ideally, the widget would work with tires sized from 23mm up to 32+mm to fit the variety of bikes and tires I might ride to work.

Bikes: Too many to count

Wake up and smell the butter,, margarine,,,,,,,!

Why spend money when you can recycle something and save a buck.
Keep an extra tube at work in your new bike stand, maybe a place
for your gloves as well, or hide a snack for later.

I have a couple on the deck with rocks in them so they don't blow away.
Don't try it without the lid, they are a bit unstable.

If you do decide on a display stand, I suggest a Feedback .

It worked on my 19lb CF bike with 700x23, MTB with 26x2.1 and my 45lb commuter bike. It fitted all eight bike I own.

If there were enough room to make an unstable arrangement like that work, I'd be into it.

That's a nifty (expensive!) piece of hardware.

Very true. I went through several different style of stands, three to be exact. Biggest issue I had was trying to keep stability when my bike is loaded down. At two of my LBS, they only use the Feedback type of stand whenever they are displaying a single bike by itself away from the other cluster of bike. The manager told me that stand are pretty stable when customer bumps into the bikes when browsing.

I have my MTB with two loaded grocery pannier and it held it up just fine.

It is only unstable if you don't have a lid on the tub. Other wise, it is as good as a kickstand.

Fashion up a little walking stick type stand from some aluminum rod from HD or even just a wooden dowel. Easy to store, easy to use. Just like leaning on the wall. Rubber band goes around a brake lever to keep the bike from rolling.

A DIY bike stand could work. The one thenomad has pictured looks similar to a Click-Stand.
