I have a few question's regarding the Ball Bearing Retainer's.
Front Wheel Part / Y-4BN98030 5/32"
Rear Wheel Part / Y-25R98080 3/16"
Are the Ball Bearing's, Ceramic ?
Can worn Ball Bearing's be replaced separately into the Ball Bearing Retainer's. Or would You need to purchase the entire thing ?
How long should the Ball Bearing's last assuming that they are serviced properly ?
1) Shimano Ball Bearings are always steel. Grade 25 Bearings are the way to go.
2) Yes. I have even heard of people who serviced their hubs by tossing the retainers and using just the ball bearings.
3) Like a lot of things, it depends. If you don't let water into the hub, and if you are on top maintenance-wise, then the bearings are gonna last a long time.
