Thank you for all the encouraging comments and great informaiton>\!

I recently aquired this "old bike aquiring" sickness and am wondering if it ever gets better?
A little strory about how I picked up the Trek.
Saw a vague ad with bad photos and low price. The posting was a couple hours old so of course I was worried that I was not the first in line. To better my chances, I asked no questions, gave my tel# and where I lived, explained my love for that type of bike and offered double the low asking price.
It worked and the seller promised to hold it for me even though I was out of town for a week. Several others contacted the seller offering more that I did but the gentleman held to his word.
The seller (retired from medical occupation) found the bike in a Bay Area parking lot in the 80s and turned it ove to the police. It was eventually returned to him after the true owner was never found.
I kind of like the unrestored look and have held back the cleaner/ polish so far. But I want to ride it so I will eventually do a cleaning/overhaul.
Thank you again. You are great people. Sick, but great!
