Yeah, I am one of the first stops on my train. So I pretty much have the run of the joint. I was thinking the side facing seats on the washroom side of the ADA cars. I could probally stand the bike on end next to the seat and not take up any extra space.
Those seats would work fine, especially if you were next to the trash recepticle and you don't usually have a disabled rider using that area. I would even try it a few times out of the bag to get the conductors feel for it. I regularly see Metra users on the Mil District West line with folders w/o bags. They don't seem to get any flak.
