Went thru the same transition with it! If there ever was a piece of "equipment" suited for the job, spandex shorts are absolutely the thing for bike riding. Just yesterday took the next step & bought a zippered jersey. It is amazing how much cooler I was wearing it on last nights ride.

...and really, I'm pretty sure no one really cares a WHOLE lot about what I wear while biking!
