I have never ridden the Giant, but I currently own and ride the dog snot out of a 2010 Trek 2.1. I'm very happy with it and would make the purchase again if faced with the choice. In my opinion, the 2.1 is very worthy of future upgrades, and I'm in the process of collecting all the SRAM Rival pieces I need so I can trade out the 105 group. (weight savings and personal preference)
