I was riding past a second hand machinery scrap yard though an industrial area and on shear impulse went in and asked if there was any old bikes lying around, this 90 or so year old guy that lived on the lot took me to a crumbling room attached to the back of his shed and found this 1977 Dawes Galaxy GT also a Avanti Hybrid in very good nic.
The Galaxy has been repainted poorly at some point so its an easy decision to paint it properly again and already ordered new hoods and decals. The Avanti is for my dad to ride around our property.
The Dawes is a touring bike with lovely riding qualitys with a 531 Reynolds frame.
GB bars and stem, Weinmann brakes and wheels, SR apex 5 crank and Suntour groupo with V-GT derailliers and power shifters.
I've been riding it as is just lubed the chain and changed the pedals "nice ride"

The Avanti has a fully lugged Tange tubed frame and fork and pulls mono's like no tomorrow.
