Its an IGH bike , so a different IGH, like an 11 speed Shimano
rather than the 3 speed stock wheel may get the job done ..

the front rack can hold a lot of stuff, maybe a duffle bag with the stuff in it?

bars are 1 piece with the stem. so may need replacement..

on a previous tour bike , I made an adapter to make up for a boss/rack
mount mismatch, It worked well for a 4 month tour, a loop
from Amsterdam to Warsaw and back, via England, Norway and Denmark.
