For the OP, given that you are 19, on a budget, still have school to pay for, etc, I would go with an aluminum frame, carbon fork and perhaps one with a carbon seat stay. You should be able to find a good price on one of these frames as they are less popular now than 10 years ago; everyone wants full carbon frames and that is what a lot of the manufactures are offering. Don't ask me which model, but look at a Cannondale frame for example.
