I bought the Proofide too for my B-17. The saddle is a quarter of the price of the bike, got to do everything to keep it in good condition. If you ruin the saddle you will kick yourself. Buying a Brooks saddle you knew it wasn't cheap, so don't be cheap taking care of it. Oh they also have Proofide for sale on Amazon for a cheaper price than retail. Well, if it helps you Proofide is made of Tallow, Cod Oil, Vegetable Oil, Paraffin Wax, Beeswax, and Citronella Oil. Maybe if you mix a couple of those ingredients you can do almost the same job.
