I'm not sure why the sour grapes. I didn't see anywhere that he said he was keeping the bike. We all assumed it. In the auction, he disclosed what he knew....nothing for sure. Everything he stated was correct although I cannot say I have heard of Cinelli using 531, but I learn something every day. Using Cinelli in the title was valid to get bidders. It does look like a Cinelli and is clearly a copy of one and a good one at that. He did say in the answer to a question the thought it was an Ian Alsop. And maybe that is the best guess. He got well over what he paid for the whole bike for just the frame, so it probably was a good flip for him.

We educated him well. Chalk it up to experience and move on.

I would be curious to hear what the new owner knows.
