Honestly if your patient you can buy a used carbon bike pretty cheap if it's that old. No one wants to risk buying used carbon. But if your in it for the parts, you could get the whole bike cheaper than a new set of wheels.
I tried to by a Scott Spark LTD, for that exact purpose, but I could not get the price down far enough for it to make sense.
Here is my (Large) RacerX. I bought it used about a year ago, and it was about 33 pounds then. Now it is down to 26.6.

Was dunno, now SRAM PG-990; (ebay, $64)
Seat post
Was FSA, now Easton carbon; (used off ebay, $22)
Seat
Was WTB SomeThingOrOther, now Specialized Toupe'; (new, LBS, $80)
(Removed 6.4 pounds for $793 (gross), and sold my take-off stuff for about $200, so net $593.)
running Michelin Dry 2 front and back, with Stans, even though they are not tubeless tires.
