looking for distraction

Desperation is driving me out of my lurking status to seek online companionship. I was in the MS Ride in New Bern a couple of weeks ago and crashed resulting in a fractured second metatarsal. I am non weight bearing for probably six weeks.

A rider, not with my group, up ahead skidded in some sand. That caused a chain reaction resulting in a rider crashing directly in front of me. I hit her bike, went down on my right hip, and my right clipped in foot twisted. We weren't even in a tight pace line or bunched up. It just can happen very quickly.

I was sagged in, which is a whole story in itself, taken by the nice MS volunteer to the Express Care for xrays, and was issued a temporary cast and set of crutches. Interestingly, the radiologist who saw the x-rays said I did not have a fracture; however, the MD disagreed and treated me as a fracture anyway. That was fortunate, because when I saw the orthopedist he said there was absolutely no doubt it was fractured. I now need to get a CT scan to check joint alignment.

Anyway, thank the Lord for Roku, my new Kendle, my husband who has had to curtail his work travel, good neighbors and friends bringing food, and my KNEE SCOOTER!! ( I do not work for or have any financial interest in Knee Scooters). Man, I wish I had that scooter from day one. What a difference it makes to be able to have your hands free while you are upright. Anyone with a lower leg injury that can kneel with the other leg, that is what you need to get. I was getting carpal tunnel in my wrist from using the crutches.

Anyway, this is getting old. Hello out there.
