Some fractures are hard to spot, especially if close to the joint, there is always the possibility that the Radiologist was very busy and didn't have enough time to study the X-ray right away. They should tell the MD if they haven't had enough time, and will revisit the X-Ray at another time. The doctor will then treat it as a fracture, until they get confirmation from the Radiologist.
