I had a similar issue. After replacing the BB and the chain, it turned out to be the pedal. If you have a spare pedal, try that. Then move on to BB. BB replacement was cheap and wasn't that hard.
A BB30 only has 2 bearings in it once the crank is pulled . What kind of BB is yours ??
