In my estimation, riding through tree shadows in strong sunlight, and riding into the setting or rising sun are two of the most dangerous environments for a rider. In the latter case, the problem can be exacerbated by dirty, smeared windscreens on vehicles approaching from behind.

Likewise, I will be more cautious in noting these conditions and making appropriate decisions.
