Bikes: Are several.

The Miele 'marque' is now owned by Procycle out of Quebec (who used to do Peugeot, CCM and Velo Sport for the Quebec/Canadian market if I'm correct on the details). They don't even make real road bikes anymore - MTB, comfort, kids and 'specialty' (i.e. folding or throwback cruiser) bikes.

As clasher points out, there were a full range of Mieles, definitely by the early 90s, even under the original ownership. The brand was started by an Italian guy near Toronto, Ontario - they're not Italian. Jim Miele's company went bankrupt in 1996. They made some nice road bikes with decent tubing and components, a lot of good mid-range bikes still floating around (in Canada, at least - a friend has one that I like), but also a lot of passable lower-end bikes. Can't tell much about that one from the photo, but it ain't fake. Components?
