Hah I've had that happen on craigslist to me. I answered an ad for an Italian Bianchi for 100 and rode my bike 5 miles at midnight to pick it up. When I was a block away the seller called me and said he went down to unlock the bike for me and found out it had been stolen. I told him I was close and would come help him look around the neighborhood for it and he told me no thanks it was a lost cause.

I then told him if he had offers for more money I was willing to offer more. He stumbled / rambled a bit and asked home much I was willing to pay. I told him to go fv€k himself.
