I love the first of the two items you linked to. I have the short sleeve version of that thermal jersey and pair it with arm warmers, and for me it's perfect between 40 and 60 degrees. The material is a lot like a normal jersey, only thicker and fleeced on the inside so it's light and easily breathes. It's like wearing a normal jersey, only warmer.

The second item I don't have but I generally find anything that has a "softshell" really isn't breathable enough for me when I'm riding hard. I sweat, but not a lot compared to many people and softshells just don't seem to keep up. I do have a PI softshell jacket but it really only comes out in temps under 40, otherwise I'm just swimming in it.
