(I was in Home Depot, and someone had left some concrete reinforcement mesh laying flat on the ground, in an aisle where it wasn't supposed to be, and I was looking for something on the shelf rather than down at my feet, my foot got stuck in the mesh, and the rest is very embarrassing history...)
This doesn't prove anything at all, but I thought it was funny... I did wish I had been wearing my helmet, though!
Last night I suffered a fairly serious bicycle-related head injury. I was re-raking a fork blade when my jig broke and the steerer tube whacked me on the head hard enough to make my ears ring and my vision go weird. I'm alright today, except for the bruising, headache, and "raccoon eye", but like you, I do wish I'd been wearing my helmet at the time. If nothing else, it would have allowed me to post here about how my life was just saved.
