C-Record was the top line group and Croce d'Aune was just below it. Consequently, C-Record commands the highest prices. Most cyclists prefer C-Record because of it's status and slightly better cosmetics, particularly the crankset. In terms of functionality, I'd give Croce D'Aune the edge, on the basis of the superior performing rear derailleur. Back in the very late 1980s a lot of cyclists rode C-record bicycles with a Croce d'Aune rear derailleur.
